This artist publication features incomplete concept illustrations which were created and used in order to conjure vast amounts of private investment funds during the heady days of the worldwide 2002 to 2008 real estate bubble.

The nation of Dubai proposed an amusement and tourist development the likes of which the world had never seen called Dubailand. The illustrations propose derivative mimickery of monumental constructions from the ancient and modern worlds. The Great Pyramid of Giza. Sleeping Beauty's Castle. The Sphinx. The London Eye. The Obelisk of Senusret. Within six short years of boom and bust, however, very few of the Dubailand projects were ever built.

The only true photographic image in the series represents what was actually constructed – what exists today – a small carnival fairground operation in the middle of 278 km2 (107 sq mi) of barren desert.
