Big Nothing

Big Nothing is a series of high definition scans of nothing. Images are created using the HD Imacon Precision II film scanner with no film negative in the machine. The work explores the conceit of non-being or nothingness. In the absence of the photographic negative the viewer is presented with pure signal information of the viewing apparatus – or the phenomenon of the digital photographic medium "seeing itself seeing".
